Day 2 Sunday January 13

Sun up at Champoeg Park

     Cold night. Heater on most of the time. Ice in ditches in am. Chill bike ride around the park. Read some history - floods, treaties. Hooked over to the coast at Lincoln City. Swept into Depoe Bay for a lunch break at the Sea Hag. Had the smoked salmon pasta - heavy but fun for a while; exited with a box full. Pulled off a while later and slipped down a muddy path to the broad beach with the S. and the dog. Complex return to car by an alternate route. Picked 2 bundles of firewood from a sketchy operation. Planned to make Brookings/Harris Beach SP not feasible. So we tried for Blue Hill State Park but closed.  Backtracked to Horse Fall meant for ATVing on the dunes but almost no one there.  Some distant whining and growling machine noise until 8 or so.  Fire, and some tomato and cheese and also some pasta from Depoe.
