Day 24 Monday February 4

View out of Hell Hole Canyon

Another view out of Hell Hole

Road to Fonts Point? Rock House free camp site at the far end of the valley.

I wonder about the extent of San Diego County, a thousand square miles, a million? I also wonder about the vast squares of flat green, metallic gray and palm to the north of Borrego.
At any rate we have left Anza-Borrego Desert SP for the infinite BLM land outside the SP. This is Rock House.  Many RV units are here each separated from each by several football fields of desert emptiness. Walked for a couple hours toward Hell Hole Canyon. Earlier we checked Fonts Point view mud rock escarpment and the restaurant at Ram’s Hill Golf Course and All around gated community guarded the gentlest elderly gentleman. Had a beer and tacos at Carlee’s. Not enough sun today for much of a charge; tomorrow will be better. We are next to F and E, Benton the dog, and Thistle the Mercedes in this wasteland. Jim had a bad toothache and went to Indio for a possible rooting; he may well show up later, but we will know nothing until morning, if then.
